What is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of permanent makeup that creates the appearance of brow hairs. The artist uses a very fine blade, made up of micro needles, to scratch individual hairstrokes into the skin whilst depositing pigment. This technique is ideal for those wanting to enhance the appearance of their eyebrows whilst keeping them looking as natural as possible.
Is Microblading right for you?
Unfortunately Microblading isn't suitable for everyone and it's important to take the following into consideration.
- You should not have the treatment whilst pregnant or breastfeeding
- You should not have the treatment if you have type 2 diabetes
- If you have chronic rosacea, acne, psoriasis or eczema near the brow area I would not recommend the treatment
- If you have very oily skin you may find that the treatment doesn't last very long and you will need frequent top ups. Machine hair stroke technique would be more suitbale and long lasting
- If you have enlarged pores on you forehead or deep wrinkles it may not be possible to get the crisp fine hairlike strokes that you desire
- If you have a serious disease such as cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders a doctor's note is required
- If you have circulatory disorders a doctor's note is required
- If you're taking blood thinning medication then you should not have microblading
- If you are currently on strong retinoids you must wait 6 months after the treatment ends before having microblading
