FAQ

Which permanent makeup technique is best for my brows?

You do not need to decide this before booking in for your consultation. Kailash will assess your brows when you meet in person and advise you on which method is best suited for you. It is helpful to bring pictures of your favourite PMU brows to your consultation so you can show what look you would like to achieve.

It is mainly down to individual preference which technique you prefer. Machine brows, either ombré, hairstroke or combination brows all work very well for every skin type. Microblading however is a completely different method and is best for dry and normal skin.

Very oily skin will tend to either loose the microblading strokes quickly or they may blur over time losing the crisp hairstroke effect that is intended.

Are the procedures painful?

Everyone has varying pain thresholds however most clients say it is no worse than hair removal and pain relief is used to numb the skin during the treatment.

How long do the brows take to heal?

There is an initial 2-week healing period where the brows need to be kept dry and sweat free. After this period, they will have finished scabbing and you can return to your normal routine. However, the brows can take up to a month to develop the final result.

How long do the lips take to heal?

The lips heal much faster than the brows, they tend to have an initial 5-day scabbing period, during this time it is recommended to keep them as hydrated as possible with the use of lip balm.
Similar to the PMU brows, once they’ve completed this phase it can look like all the pigment has disappeared, however the colour will gradually return to the lips over the following 4 weeks.

Why do I need 2 treatments?

After your brows or lips have finished healing from your initial treatment it is normal for some of the hairstrokes not to take so we do a top-up 4-6 weeks later. This appointment is important to add additional pigment where needed to perfect the brows or lips to prevent them from looking patchy. The better you are with the aftercare following your first session the quicker your top-up appointment will be!

How long will my permanent makeup last?

Again, this really depends on the individual, most clients return once a year for their top-up. Some, especially those with a slightly drier skin type, can go a couple of years without need for a top-up whereas people with oily skin may need them more frequently.
